Department : Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine (CABM)

The CABM Structural Bioinformatics Laboratory carries out structure and function studies of genomically-defined protein targets. The lab uses both NMR and X-ray crystallography, along with computational methods, to address questions emerging from genomic and functional genomic analyses. The lab also develops software to automate structure determination by NMR methods. It is one of the principal nodes of the United States Protein Structure Initiative.

Department : New Jersey Medical School

The Confocal Imaging Facility is a core facility of UMDNJ-NJMS.  We provide advanced microscope systems for optical imaging of live and fixed samples. Facility Manager Luke Fritzky is trained in cell biology, has many years' experience in 3D microscopy, and specializes in working with users to find the best methods for any imaging study and assisting users as needed with experimental design, image acquisition, training, technical support and data interpretation. He is on site every weekday to facilitate imaging and in-depth consultation.

Department : Robert Wood Johnson Medical School - Deptartment of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine

This facility provides electron microscopy services, techniques and expertise for the current needs of the department and UMDNJ family, including the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Cancer Institue of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Rutgers University, and private sector users.

Department : New Jersey Medical School

The Flow Cytometry Core Lab provides support to the NJMS research community as well as to surrounding universities and private companies for applications involving flow cytometric analysis, cell sorting and imaging flow cytometry. Resources available -

Flow cytometric analysis:

•Three BD Biosciences FACSCaliburs each having a dual laser capacity with capabilities to do up to four color analysis and an HTS sampler for multiwell sampling.
•LSR II air-cooled four-laser benchtop flow cytometer with the ability to acquire 12 colors.
